Your favorite perfume is slowly killing you—DNA-damaging phthalates have been found in Bvlgari, Zielinski & Rozen, Calvin Klein, and other fragrances.

In men, phthalates affect potency and impair sperm quality; in women, they block ovulation and increase the risk of infertility.

Calvin Klein had the worst results: in several fragrances, the concentration of diethyl phthalate reached 2.2% of the total bottle weight. D&G was also found to contain BHT, a substance that triggers hyperthyroidism and causes a number of problems.

Regular use of perfume leads to a buildup of phthalates in the body and, in some cases, can lead to cancer.
