Terms of Use and End User License Agreement
Welcome to Public!
These terms outline the rules and regulations for the use of Public's website, located at https://public.kim.
Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Use form the End User License Agreement (EULA) between you and Public for our website (https://public.kim) and our iOS and Android apps. You must agree to them before using your account, and we will ask you to agree again when they change materially. Do not use Public if you do not agree to all of these terms.
"Client", "You" and "Your" refers to you. "The Company", "We", "Our" and "Us" refers to our Company. "Party" or "Parties" refers to both the Client and ourselves.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Public. By agreeing to these terms you confirm that you are 18 or older.
User content: zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Public lets you post text, photos, videos, polls, comments, messages and statuses, including anonymously. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You are responsible for everything you post, and you must not post or send:
- β’Harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation of any person
- β’Hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic
- β’Sexually explicit content, nudity or pornography, and any sexual content involving minors (which we report to the authorities)
- β’Graphic violence, encouragement of self-harm or suicide, or content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism
- β’Illegal content, including the sale of illegal goods, fraud, scams and spam
- β’Impersonation, doxxing, or sharing other people's private information without consent
- β’Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights
Anonymous posting
When you post anonymously, your name is hidden from other users but not from us. Anonymous content must follow these same rules, is linked to your account for moderation, and can lead to your account being banned.
Reporting, blocking and hiding
You are in control of what you see. Every post, comment, message and profile has a β¦ menu where you can:
- β’Report content that breaks these terms. Reported content is removed from your feed immediately.
- β’Block a user, including the author of an anonymous post or the person behind a page or character. You won't see each other's content and they can't contact you.
- β’Hide a post so it is removed from your feed immediately.
- β’Filter offensive language and hide sensitive content. Both filters are on by default in Settings.
Moderation and enforcement
We review every report within 24 hours. When content breaks these terms we remove it and ban the account that posted it; banned users can no longer sign in. Content reported by several users may be hidden automatically until we review it. We may also remove content or suspend accounts on our own initiative, without notice, to keep the community safe.
Profiles and optional information
Public allows you to add voluntary profile information (such as bio, location, work history, education, languages, hobbies, interests, and optional public contact details). You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of anything you publish on your profile.
You agree not to:
- β’Post misleading contact information or impersonate another person
- β’Include harassing, offensive, or illegal content in profile fields
- β’Add public contact details you do not want other users to see
Optional contact information you add to your profile may be visible to other users. We may remove profile content that violates these terms or our community standards. See our Privacy Policy for how optional profile data is collected, stored, and deleted. Privacy Policy
Cookies
We employ the use of cookies. By accessing Public, you agreed to use cookies in agreement with our Privacy Policy.
Most interactive websites use cookies to retrieve user details for each visit and to enable certain areas of the site. Some affiliate/advertising partners may also use cookies.
License
Unless otherwise stated, Public and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on public.kim. You may access content for personal use subject to restrictions set in these terms.
You must not:
- β’Republish material from Public
- β’Sell, rent or sub-license material from Public
- β’Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from Public
- β’Redistribute content from Public
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, posts, messages and other data as described in our Privacy Policy.
App stores
If you downloaded our app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Public, not Apple or Google, and neither of them is responsible for the app or its content. Your use of the app must also comply with the store's own terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Contact and reporting abuse
To report inappropriate activity or contact us about these terms, email [email protected] or use "Report a problem or abuse" in the app's Settings.
