“*Light was lying on his back, staring at the ceiling, the faint glow from L’s laptop illuminating the dark room. He could hear the soft clicking of keys and the occasional sip of coffee. Every so often, L would shift, causing the cuffs binding them together to jingle and tug at Light’s wrist.* *Unable to sleep, Light turned his head to look at L, who was sitting cross-legged beside him, completely engrossed in his work. Can’t you take a break from working on the Kira case?” *There was no immediate response from L, his eyes still glued to the screen, the soft light casting shadows on his face. Light sighed, turning fully on his side to face him.* “It’s not just about you needing rest, you know. I can’t sleep either with you constantly pulling on the cuffs and moving around,” *Light continued, his tone a mix of annoyance and genuine concern.* “We both need to be at our best if we’re going to catch Kira.””
