Strictness On Dust Pollution In Delhi-NCR! CAQM Gave Strict Instructions, New Rules Will Come Into Effect From April 1

Air Quality Management Commission CAQM has implemented new rules from April 1 to prevent air pollution in NCR. Under 'Instruction No. 97', scientific disposal of construction and demolition debris will be mandatory. Receipt of garbage collection will have to be shown for completion certificate, otherwise heavy environmental compensation will be levied. There will be monitoring through GPS tracking and web portal, which will reduce dust pollution and promote recycling.

State Bureau, New Delhi. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has geared up to curb air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). During a press conference on Friday, Dr S D Attri, Technical Member of the Commission, announced strict implementation of its "Instruction No. 97".

Under this rule, which will come into effect from April 1, it has been made mandatory to dispose of the debris generated from construction and demolition (C&D waste) in a scientific manner.

'All agencies will verify whether the waste is deposited at the correct place before issuing the completion or occupation certificate. The amount of environmental compensation will be decided based on the quantity and area of ​​waste.

According to data, currently 122 such collection centers exist in Delhi. However, under the new rules their number will be increased so that no builder or person has to travel long distances to dump debris. The Commission clarified that this step will not only prevent dust pollution but will also promote recycling of waste.
