Jagran correspondent, Udhampur. Referring to the great success of destroying 7 terrorist camps and several launch pads in Operation Sindoor within just 88 hours, Northern Command Chief Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma said that today the nature of war has completely changed.
He clarified that now the fight is not limited only to land, water and air, but has spread to cyber, space, information and electronic warfare, which the Indian Army has effectively included in its strategy.
In his address at the investiture ceremony held at the Northern Command Headquarters, Northern Command Chief Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma appreciated the courage, dedication and excellent service of the brave soldiers and units. He said that the ceremony not only symbolizes the exceptional performance of the soldiers but also inspires patriotism and dedication towards the motherland.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said that under the leadership of Northern Command, within 88 hours, 7 terrorist camps were destroyed and several launch pads were demolished. After this, heavy damage was caused to the enemy in the shelling on LAC. In this operation, every soldier displayed unique courage and skill. Describing the changing nature of war, the Northern Command Chief said that now the scope of war has expanded rapidly, where unprecedented coordination of society, industry and technology is being seen. He said that the use of precision weapons, drone technology, electronic counter systems and artificial intelligence has become an important part of modern warfare. He said that even today the final and decisive victory is decided only by establishing dominance on the ground, hence the capability of the soldiers is most important.

The Northern Command Chief said that the Northern Command is working rapidly in all these important areas while also mentioning the five major pillars determined for the transformation of the Army - Giantness and Integration, Force Restructuring, Modernization and Technology Infusion, Systems and Processes and Human Resource Development.
On this occasion, he congratulated all the formations, units and sub-units participating in Operation Sindoor for their unprecedented contribution.
