Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. The Red Fort bomb blast case was heard before the court of Additional Sessions Judge at Patiala House. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is investigating the case, has sought additional time of 45 days from the court to investigate the new clues.

The agency told the court that the help of an expert from Jamia Millia Islamia is being taken to interpret the Arabic material recovered from the digital devices of the accused.

According to NIA, there are indications of a big conspiracy network in this case, whose thorough investigation is going on. The agency said that judicial custody of the accused is necessary so that the content recovered from their digital devices can be properly analyzed and confronted.

This material includes documents related to promoting Jihadi ideology and making bombs from household items and chemicals.

Five TB data recovered

During the investigation, the agency has recovered about five TB of data, which has been sent to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), CFSL and DFSS for investigation.

This data includes videos, voice samples, radical literature and handwritten notes, which have yielded many important clues. The NIA also told the court that raids were conducted at nine locations in Jammu and Kashmir, from where many digital devices were seized. Their forensic investigation is still going on.

Propagation of fundamentalism on WhatsApp group

Apart from this, investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were members of several WhatsApp groups. Radical ideology was being propagated through these groups. The agency has intensified efforts to identify other suspected members and handlers associated with the network through VoIP interception.

According to NIA, preliminary investigation has also revealed some foreign connections, which were linked through online platforms and fake internet media accounts.
