Palwal's Saduagarhi Pontoon Bridge Washed Away Due To Rise In Yamuna Water Level, Passengers Resorted To Boat

The pontoon bridge on Yamuna river at Saduagarhi was washed away due to rising water level in March. This bridge, which is usually constructed from November to July, was constructed this time in January-February. Due to it being washed away, passengers again have to resort to boat. Thousands of pilgrims doing 84 kos circumambulation of Braj in Adhimas will face special problems, as crossing the river by boat is risky.

This time, due to the strong flow of Yamuna river water, the pentoon bridge was installed in the month of January-February. The travelers crossing the Yamuna river thought that now with the installation of the pentoon bridge, they would be relieved from crossing the Yamuna river by boat.

But in the month of March, due to sudden rise in the water level of Yamuna river, the pentoon bridge installed on Yamuna river got washed away due to which the contractor who installed the pentoon bridge also suffered huge loss. Once again the passengers crossing Yamuna river are forced to take the help of boat to cross the river.

Pilgrims will face problems

The month of Adhimas will come in the month of May-June in which thousands of pilgrims will cross the Yamuna river every day to circumambulate 84 Kos of Braj. If a pontoon bridge is not built on the Yamuna river in the month of Adhimas, then the pilgrims will be forced to cross the river by boat, which will also be quite risky.

Many times in the past, pilgrims have died due to drowning while crossing Yamuna river.
