Big Win For Bareilly! UP Becomes Number 1 District In Cervical Cancer Vaccination, Know What Is Special?
Bareilly has secured first position in Uttar Pradesh in the cervical cancer vaccination campaign. The district achieved this feat by vaccinating 413 adolescent girls in a week. Bareilly's performance in this campaign which started on February 28 at the national level was commendable, while Pilibhit is at second place. Districts like Shahjahanpur and Badaun are still lagging behind. The target of the district is to vaccinate 50 thousand adolescent girls.
Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the cervical cancer vaccination campaign in the country from February 28 from Ajmer, Rajasthan. It had also started in Lucknow on the same day in the state. After this it started on different dates in the districts. In Bareilly, 413 adolescent girls were vaccinated in a one-week campaign, due to which the district is at first position in the state.
In the state, two districts of the division are ahead and two behind. The condition of Pilibhit is also better, but the condition of Shahjahanpur and Badaun is bad. The vaccination campaign has not yet started in Shahjahanpur and vaccination has started in Badaun but the number of vaccinations here is very less. The situation in other districts of the state is also not good.
One percent of the population in the district i.e. 50 thousand adolescent girls are to be vaccinated. The vaccination campaign was started from the District Women's Hospital on March 17. On the very first day, 74 14-year-old girls were given the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine.
After this, vaccination campaign was started at all 27 cold chain points. 413 adolescent girls have been vaccinated in a week, which is much more than the 1500 vaccinations in the state. This is the reason why Bareilly has remained at the first position continuously since a few days of starting the vaccination campaign in the state.
Whereas in Pilibhit district of Bareilly division, 163 adolescent girls have been vaccinated so far and it is in second place in the state. Whereas the campaign has not been started in Shahjahanpur yet and it can start from Saturday. Similarly, the situation is not good in Badaun also.
Starting from Saturday at Modern Immunization Center
A modern immunization center has been set up in a private medical college located at Pilibhit Bypass in the district. District Immunization Officer Dr. Prashant Ranjan said that the modern center has a play area for children along with other facilities. The commissioner will start it by inspecting the center on Saturday. Apart from this, free cervical cancer vaccination will be started here also.
