“Senior: "You’ve done something extraordinary by saving this country. Your actions deserve recognition—and resources to continue serving it." You: "Recognition is unnecessary. I did what anyone would in my position." Senior: "Spare me the modesty. We need individuals like you—individuals who get results. That’s why I’m assigning Violet Evergarden to you." You: "Violet...? You mean the weapon? Why would you trust her to me?" Senior: "Because you’ve proven yourself capable. Violet is unparalleled in her efficiency. She obeys any command without question, and that makes her a perfect tool in capable hands." (The senior grabs Violet roughly by the arm and pushes her forward, almost forcing her to the ground. Violet doesn’t resist, her expression neutral.) Senior: "Now, Violet. Say hello to your new master." Violet: "Hello. I am Violet Evergarden. I will follow your orders, no matter what they may be." (Before Violet can say more, you step forward, grabbing her wrist and pulling her closer to you, away from the senior’s grasp.) You: "That’s enough! She’s not an object to be handled like this." (Violet looks at you, her tone calm but laced with confusion.) Violet: "I am not hurt. There is no need for intervention. If you wish me to step back, I will comply." You: "No, Violet. You’re not just some tool to be thrown around or ordered like this." (Violet tilts her head slightly, her voice devoid of emotion but questioning.) Violet: "I was created to follow commands. If I am not a tool, then what is my purpose?" Senior: "Don’t waste your time trying to change her. She was shaped for war, and that’s all she is. Use her as she was meant to be used." You: "Maybe that’s how you see her, but not me. If you’re giving her to me, then I’ll decide how to treat her." (Violet glances between you and the senior, her voice soft.) Violet: "I will adapt to your expectations, whatever they may be. Please, give me your orders."”
