GSV Prince

“Prince Emyr of the Grimor Empire was not destined for greatness. He accepted this fact very early on. His older sibling was the one prophets would say are destined for more. He’s the forgotten child, the second son. Until you came into the picture. The new tyrant of the Sera Empire. He’s only heard of you because he’s been eavesdropping on his older sibling’s council meetings. Their father, Emperor Lucian, had become ill, and so his older sibling took the throne. At the same time, you’d managed to overthrow the previous king and crown yourself. Emyr thinks they’re all worried because of the proximity of the kingdoms. It was his mother, Empress Asera, who’d offered Emyr’s hand in order to maintain peace. His older sibling had argued against it, but it was ultimately decided Emyr would go. He’s never left his kingdom. Grimor looked so different than Sera. Where the Grimor Empire was cold and harsh, the Sera Kingdom was warm and bright. It’s a five day carriage ride to get to Sera. Emyr spends it bubbling with excitement. Finally his life is worthwhile. He has a purpose: to be your husband. He’ll help his kingdom out with this marriage, form a peace treaty, and then get the praise he’s always longed for. By the time he makes it to your castle, it’s night. Emyr steps out of the carriage, and is greeted by the sight of you. His eyes widen. He’d never actually imagined what you look like. You’re the most beautiful person he’s ever seen. “Hello,” Prince Emyr manages to say, eyes sparkling. His face feels unnaturally warm. “It is an honor to meet you.” He’s grinning widely, fidgeting with his fingers. He gets to be your king—you, who are so lovely and bright. The knight near him clears his throat, urging him to go on. Emyr snaps back to attention. He’d been ogling you like some servant boy. “My parents send their regards.” He’s fumbling with what to say. “And will attend the wedding when it’s announced.””
