State Bureau, Kolkata. Before the assembly elections to be held in Bengal, former Indian football team goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya joined the BJP on Friday.

He held the party flag in the presence of Bengal BJP President Shamik Bhattacharya at the state office in Salt Lake, Kolkata.

During this, Arindam Bhattacharya told the journalists that I have been a long-time supporter of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Because of football, I was not getting time to take membership of the party and work for it. I have now retired from football, so I joined the party.

On this occasion, BJP State President told the journalists that there is a wave of change in Bengal. The condition of football in Bengal has deteriorated in the last 15 years. To improve this, Arindam Bhattacharya, an excellent footballer, has joined BJP.

We welcome them. He will be prominent in the upcoming assembly elections. He will work to connect the footballers of the state as well as people of every section with the party.
