In this incident that took place in December 2024, Rs 5 lakh in cash, $300 and a DSLR camera were stolen. The accused, a resident of Nepal, was hiding in Nepal and then Mumbai after the incident. The police caught him after an intensive search of one year.

According to the information received, on December 2024, Gaurav Silodi resident of Srinagar had lodged a complaint in the Kotwali Srinagar that an unknown thief broke the lock of his shop and stole about five lakh rupees in cash, three hundred dollars and a DSLR camera.

A case was registered in this regard at Kotwali Srinagar. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, the SSP had immediately formed a police team and given instructions for early disclosure.

However, in the initial investigation the police did not find any concrete evidence. CO Srinagar Anuj Kumar said that the police team thoroughly investigated the CCTV cameras installed around the incident site and gathered information about the suspects by activating the informer system.

On the basis of technical evidence and continuous efforts, the police identified the accused. Investigation revealed that the accused had fled to Nepal after the incident and was later living at various places including Mumbai hiding his identity.

Area Officer Anuj Kumar said that the police team, acting on the basis of concrete evidence, arrested 38-year-old Neerak alias Neer Bahadur Shahi, resident of District Kailali Nepal from Mumbai (Maharashtra).

Action is being taken by presenting the accused in the court. The arresting police team included Sub Inspector Mukesh Bhatt, Sub Inspector Suresh Raturi, Cyber ​​Cell Kotdwar Sub Inspector Deepak Arora etc.
