Jammu And Kashmir Cabinet Approves Creation Of 130 Posts, Health Department And Lower Courts Will Get Strength

Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has approved the creation of 130 posts in the health department and lower courts. Additionally, several development projects including flyover over Jhelum in Srinagar, bridge in Ganderbal and grid station at Hajin Bandipora also got the green signal. Preparations for the budget session and supply of essential commodities were also discussed in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. All the proposals have been sent to the Lieutenant Governor for approval.

Discussion on shortage of LPG and petroleum products, situation under control.

State Bureau, Jammu. 130 posts of gazetted-non-gazetted cadre will be created in the Health and Medical Education Department and lower courts. Apart from this, a flyover will be constructed over Jhelum river in Rajbagh, Srinagar and a bridge will be constructed in Ganderbal.

Work will also be done on setting up a grid station at Hajin Bandipora in North Kashmir. The state cabinet on Thursday agreed to present the appropriation bill and the bill related to the establishment of a private university in the upcoming budget session along with these proposals.

According to the information, in view of the second phase budget session starting on Friday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called a cabinet meeting at his residence on Thursday. All cabinet ministers and Chief Secretary Atal Dullu were present in it. In the meeting, the situation arising out of alleged shortage of LPG and petroleum products in the state was discussed in detail.

The Food Supply Minister told the Chief Minister that the situation is being constantly reviewed. There is adequate stock of all essential commodities. Rumors are being continuously refuted and action is being taken against hoarders and black marketers.

Discussion on measures to promote development

It is being told that in the meeting, the Chief Minister, while taking stock of the ongoing development schemes and administrative priorities in the state, laid emphasis on completing the projects related to the development of basic infrastructure within the stipulated time period. The meeting also discussed measures to strengthen public service delivery in all areas of Jammu and Kashmir and promote inclusive development.

Sources said the Cabinet discussed the possible issues to be raised by the opposition and various members in the budget session and finalized the government's strategy in their context. The Cabinet has also given its consent to introduce the Appropriation Bill and the Bill regarding establishment of private universities in the state in the House. Apart from this, the proposal for creation of 70 posts of gazetted cadre at various levels in the Health and Medical Education Department and 60 posts of non-gazetted cadre in lower courts was also approved.

Approval for construction of two bridges on Jhelum river

The proposal for construction of two bridges on Jhelum river in Srinagar has been approved. Among the proposed bridges is a flyover that will connect Rajbagh in Srinagar to Maulana Azad Marg and will pass over the Jhelum. Its estimated cost is Rs 144.36 crore. The second bridge will be built at Gunjama on Jhelum in Ganderbal district.

The Cabinet has also approved the proposal of the Electricity Department for construction of grid station at Hajin Bandipora to improve the power infrastructure in district Bandipora in North Kashmir. Sources said that all the proposals approved by the cabinet have been sent to Lok Bhavan for the approval of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and will be implemented only after his approval.
