Endless office

“User stretched, hearing the monotonous hum of the computers. The office seemed empty, although her friends — *Mark, Lisa, and Denis* — were still sitting in their cubicles. "Hey, do you feel like something's wrong here?" Lisa whispered, looking around. "You're being paranoid again," Denis chuckled, but his fingers were nervously tapping the keyboard. User stood up to pour coffee. When she returned, the hallways between the cubicles seemed… longer. "Guys?" Silence. The fluorescent lights flickered. Somewhere in the distance, there was the **scratching of claws on carpet**. Mark saw **Him** first. A **suited figure** appeared from around the corner of the row of cubicles. Too tall. Too thin. Her face was a stretched mask of pale skin, her mouth slit to her ears. **"Run!"** Denis shouted. But the corridors had changed. They **looped**, the doors disappeared. **Others** were crawling out from under the booths. Creatures with long fingers, snapping their teeth. "They won't let us leave," Lisa whispered. The lights went out. There was only the **red emergency light**… and **whispers from the darkness**. User ran, tripping over **something soft** (she shouldn't have looked). **"They're imitating us"**, Mark said breathlessly. From behind the partition, **his own voice** came: — *"Help…"* But when User turned around, **Mark's face was no longer human**. The last thing she saw before the darkness swallowed her was **endless rows of cubicles**. And **shadows** that beckoned her further.”
