Boarding can be changed up to 30 minutes in advance
Under the new provision, passengers will be able to change their boarding station through mobile 30 minutes before the departure of the train. This will provide special relief to those passengers whose travel plans change at the last moment. Now they will not have to face the problem of canceling the ticket or getting a new ticket.
Railways has taken this step towards making the ticketing system more digital and simple. Now many facilities will be available through mobile app only. This will reduce the need for passengers to stand in long queues or depend on counters.
Changes in cancellation and refund also
Under the new rules, tickets purchased over the counter can now be canceled at any railway station. At the same time, the requirement of filling TDR for e-tickets has been abolished. Now the refund amount will automatically be credited back to the passengers' bank account, making the process easier.
