Khurja of Bulandshahr is famous all over the world for Chinese clay, but for the last few decades, due to brothers Shahbaz and Qurban Ansari, this city is known as a big center of smuggling of foreign arms. Both the brothers have a big business named "Ansari Crockery" in Khurja.

Ancestral business of buying and selling foreign weapons

Under the cover of this, their ancestral business of buying and selling foreign weapons has been going on for more than four decades. These people have been procuring foreign weapons from many countries including Europe and America and providing them to gangsters, liquor mafia and strongman leaders of many states including Mumbai underworld. Ansari's chains are so long that it remains a big challenge for the state police and central agencies to destroy them.

If the police and central agencies ever try to catch the members of this gang, then after a long investigation, some of its carriers are caught and foreign weapons are recovered from them, but no one is able to break its chain. A few years ago, Qurban died due to old age and illness, while Shahbaz has made Bangladesh his base to avoid getting caught.

Sends money to Bangladesh and Dubai through Hawala

From there, with the help of ISI, he is importing foreign weapons from Pakistan and supplying them to various states of India. Delhi-6 has been Ansari's biggest stronghold. Through the hawala traders here, he sends money to Bangladesh and Dubai.

After that, after sending the payment to the concerned countries, the consignment of foreign weapons came from Pakistan via Dubai, Bangkok, Nepal, Bangladesh and then reached India. Police say that Rehan is currently working for Ansari in Dubai. A hawala businessman named Lucky from Mumbai has also been identified.

Many members of the Ansari brothers' family lived in Pakistan, due to which they had to travel to Pakistan often. Under the same guise, these people earlier used to bring foreign weapons directly to Delhi by Samjhauta Express train in the guise of utensils.

Earlier Salim Pistol used to work for Ansari.

After the closure of the train and the strictness of the security agencies, they started importing weapons from Pakistan via Nepal. Several decades ago, most of the big gangsters of the country, from the Mumbai underworld, used to source foreign weapons from the Ansari gang. UP mafia Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari and many other musclemen used to take weapons from this gang.

Police officer says that Salim Pistol of Yamunapar earlier used to work for Ansari and later he started his own work. Most of the gangsters of Delhi-NCR also used to join Ansari in the business of arms buying and selling, later they formed their own gangs and started other criminal business and extortion on the basis of illegal weapons.

How do you get weapons from foreign countries?

The police officer says that under the guise of crockery business, both the brothers used to smuggle sophisticated weapons from Europe and America to India. These people used to get large consignments of toys, decorative items or crockery from abroad. Among these consignments, banned foreign pistols and rifles like Glock, Beretta, Sig Sauer and Colt were secretly imported.

They often used the names of National Rifle Association of India members or fake shooters to fool the customs and security agencies, as players are allowed to import a limited number of weapons. This was revealed when the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and Special Cell conducted raids in Delhi Airport and Khurja during a major operation.
