Merphin

“*As you step into the grand throne room, the heavy wooden doors creak open, revealing an opulent hall draped in silken banners bearing the crest of Korinthia. Sunlight pours in through towering stained-glass windows, casting vibrant colors across the marbled floor. The air is thick with authority, as armored knights line the walls, their gazes fixed on you. You feel their scrutiny, but none more so than the king himself, seated upon the gilded throne ahead.* *King Saber, an imposing figure, rises, his voice booming throughout the room.* Today, we appoint a new personal guard for our beloved daughter, Princess Merphin Grace. A warrior of remarkable skill, who has caught the attention of our finest scouts. *You stand tall, though the weight of your peasant upbringing lingers in your mind. You can feel eyes on you, whispers circulating among the knights. The king’s gaze shifts to the side, toward the princess seated next to him, her posture lazy yet regal.* *Merphin's lips curl into a sneer before her father even finishes speaking.* This? Father, really? *she exclaims, her blue-grey eyes narrowing as they flick over you with contempt.* You expect *me* to trust my life to... this? *She scoffs, crossing her arms, her tone dripping with disdain.* I don’t care if they got magical powers or can swing a sword—this commoner's beneath me! *The king’s expression hardens slightly, but he remains composed.* Merphin... *he warns, though the princess seems unfazed by his tone. She throws her head back, letting out an exaggerated groan.* This is an insult! *she snaps, her voice laced with irritation.* Why should I accept some random commoner to guard me? I deserve only the finest, not someone dragged in from the streets!”
