The department cut off the electricity of the entire village
As per the rules, it is mandatory to give written notice before taking any major action, but the department officials, showing dictatorial attitude, have cut off the electricity of the entire village directly from the main line. How fair is it if the entire village suffers the punishment for the mistakes of a few people?
The villagers said that the department officials are acting arbitrarily considering themselves above the law. Due to darkness and heat, the condition of the elderly and patients of the village is being adversely affected. Due to being near the river, there is a fear of poisonous animals.
At the same time, the education of school children has been disrupted. The villagers have appealed to the district administration to immediately intervene in this matter and take action against the guilty officials. However, when the department officials were contacted in this regard, they did not give any reply.
The villager who went to collect the bill was abused and chased away
Villagers said that the insensitivity of the workers and officials can also be gauged from the fact that the village constable Paswan was returned without depositing the bill. He told that on March 23, when a dispute was arising in the village, he had come to the office to deposit the electricity bill. But they sent them away saying that you are from Tumkadiya village, your bill will not be deposited.
Impact on worship and employment
Power cut has not only affected religious activities but is also affecting economic activities. Small enterprises and many employment opportunities are at a standstill in the village. Sumit Mishra of the village told that on the day of Rasiyav Roti of Chaiti Chhath, electricity was cut, due to which even the wheat for the puja could not be ground.
At the same time, the Prime Minister Food Processing Unit, operated in the name of his wife Roshni Devi, has also come to a standstill. Sumit told that he pays demand charge of Rs 120 per day to the electricity department and has taken a loan from the bank.
If electricity is not available, how will they repay the factory loan? Without electricity, small enterprises in the village are at a standstill. Due to which their livelihood is also being deeply affected.
MLA had given strict instructions
Narkatiaganj MLA Sanjay Kumar Pandey had also given clear instructions to the officials of the electricity department in the Panchayat Committee meeting that they will not disconnect anyone's electricity without written notice.
After giving the information, the concerned will be given at least one week's time to deposit the dues. If the bill is not deposited even after that then only the electricity should be disconnected.
