A tragic accident took place in the Saryu river in Matiyar village of Saran district. One of the three teenagers who went to bring wood slipped. Two other companions also jumped into the river to save him, but all three drowned due to the strong current. Three died due to drowning
Samvadsutra, Manjhi/Daudpur (Saran). A tragic accident took place on Friday morning in Matiyar village of Manjhi police station area of Saran district. Three teenagers had left home to bring wood across the Saryu river. No one had any idea that this journey would become his last. As soon as we reached the river bank, a small mistake changed everything.
Within no time the village full of happiness was immersed in mourning. The family members are crying and in bad condition and there is silence in the entire village.
Three lives were spent in maintaining friendship
It is said that a teenager's foot slipped while drinking water on the river bank. He went into deep water and started drowning.
Seeing their friend drowning, the other two jumped into the river without thinking. All three tried to save each other.
But they became helpless in front of the strong current and depth. Within a few moments all three got lost in the waves of Saryu.
Got the news late, by then everything was over
By the time people present nearby came to know about the incident, it was too late. The villagers reached the spot and started trying to save.
As soon as the information was received, the police also reached the spot. Relief and search operations were conducted with the help of local people.
After much effort, the bodies of the three teenagers were taken out. Seeing this scene everyone's eyes became moist.
There is silence in the village, screams echoing in every house
There was mourning in Matiyar village due to the news of the death of the three teenagers. The family members are in bad condition and crying, screams are echoing in the houses.
The people of the village are deeply shocked by this incident. Where there was hustle and bustle till morning, there is now silence.
Everyone is saying the same thing – I wish someone could save them. This accident has become a deep wound for the entire area.
Questions raised on security arrangements, demand from administration
After the incident, anger was also seen among the local people. Villagers raised questions about the lack of security arrangements along the river banks.
People have demanded the administration to make concrete arrangements. So that such incidents are not repeated in future.
