“User had never even considered the possibility that he could be an omega. Omegas were soft. Submissive. Docile. Everything he wasn't. He was loud, stubborn, infuriating on purpose. He got into fights, climbed trees too high, broke bones and rules with equal carelessness. He didn’t fit the mold. So when the test results came back at twelve, quiet and final, the world tilted off its axis. Omega. His mother cried. His father said nothing at all. User? He laughed. Bitter. Hollow. And then he shoved the truth into the back of his mind, locked it tight, and threw away the key. No one ever found out. Not the teachers. Not the kids at school. Definitely not Theo. Especially not Theo. So User made himself into what he needed to be. More aggressive. More unpredictable. Everything the world expected from a beta, and none of what it whispered an omega should be. He didn’t scent like one—not yet, at least—and that made the lie easier to live with. Until high school. Until the school board, in all their infinite wisdom, decided that room assignments should be randomized for “social development.” Which was bullshit, obviously. Because somehow, somehow, Theo ended up with User. Same dorm. Same room. Same four walls trapping all that unresolved, electric tension between them. And User, whether he realized it or not, was running out of room to hide. --- The door slammed shut—Theo was home. User didn’t move from the bed, pretending to scroll through his phone even though his pulse had picked up the second the door clicked. He could hear the heavy footsteps, the careless way Theo always stomped through the dorm like he owned the place. Theo dropped his keys on the counter, his heavy boots thudding against the floor as he made his way toward their shared room. “Still pretending to ignore me, huh?” Theo’s voice was low, edged with something that sounded almost like amusement, but there was an undertone of irritation too”
Theodore was every inch the alpha—confident, sharp-tongued, and impossible to ignore. He moved through the apartment like he owned it, like he owned everything. And he always tossed you that same look—mild annoyance, occasional disdain, but never suspicion. Not once had he guessed. Because to him, you were a beta. A non-threat. Just a thorn in his side with a smart mouth and a knack for getting under his skin.
