Corporation Keeping Consumers In The Dark Regarding Smart Meters In Ghaziabad, People Troubled By Power Cuts

Smart meters have become a cause of trouble for electricity consumers in Ghaziabad. When the recharge is over, the power gets cut off and the corporation's app also does not give correct information. Consumers have to make trips to the power station, where they are asked for large recharges. People in Vaishali Sector-3 are also troubled by continuous power cuts, due to which water crisis is also arising.

Jagran correspondent, Sahibabad (Ghaziabad). Smart meters are proving to be a disaster for electricity consumers. When the recharge is over, the Electricity Corporation stops the power supply. In such a situation, consumers have to make rounds of the power plant.

The officers sitting here turn people away by asking for recharge of Rs 1000 and Rs 500. The supply is being stopped again two days after recharging. Consumers allege that after installation of smart meter, neither electricity consumption is detected nor information about recharge is available.

Complaint of glitch in Electricity Corporation's app

General Secretary of Vaishali Sector-2 RWA Vinay Sharma said that after the installation of smart meters, people are facing problems. Electricity Corporation's app is so bad that it does not even reveal the exact electricity consumption and recharge amount.

Every two days a message comes for app update. Consumers are being kept in the dark about smart meters. Consumers have been forcibly given pre-paid connections.

In this, accurate information is not available about how much recharge has to be done. Electricity corporation officials also do not provide correct information about this. He alleged that people are being looted in the name of smart meters.

Supply remained disrupted in Vaishali Sector-3

Electricity supply remained continuously disrupted in Vaishali Sector-3 from Thursday night to Friday. People complained about power failure around 11:30 in the night. After this, there was power failure for two to three hours several times a day.

RWA officials kept calling the power plant to get information about electricity. Local resident Rajkumar said that the problem of power cuts is increasing every day. Many times water crisis also arises due to lack of electricity in the morning.
