UP Roadways Bus Crashes Due To Heavy Collision In Hapur, Driver Killed And 11 Passengers Injured

Keshav Tyagi, Hapur. The Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation bus going from Pilibhit to Delhi met with an accident in the police station Babugarh area after being hit by an unknown vehicle. The bus driver died in the accident, while 11 passengers were injured. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a report against the unknown driver and started investigation.
In the report lodged with the police, Amit Kumar, center in-charge of Pilibhit Roadways Depot, said that on March 23, 2026, bus number UP 78 LN 6325 of Pilibhit depot of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation was going from Pilibhit to Delhi.
At around 4 am in the morning, the bus was hit by an unknown vehicle in Babugarh police station area. The collision was so strong that the bus went out of control and crashed.
The injured were admitted to the nearest hospital.
In the accident, bus driver Mangal Singh died on the spot, while the bus operator was seriously injured. Apart from this, 11 passengers traveling in the bus were also injured in the accident. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and collected information about the accident. The victim lodged a complaint at Babugarh police station demanding action against the unknown driver.
Police station in-charge Babugarh Inspector Munish Pratap Chauhan said that on the basis of the complaint, the police has registered a case against the unknown driver. Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby so that the vehicle that caused the accident can be identified.
