42 Seater Plane Will Take Off From Dehradun, Reach Pithoragarh In 45 Minutes; This Is The Fare

Chief Minister Dhami started Dehradun-Pithoragarh air service from Jolly Grant. Alliance Air's 42 seater aircraft will now reach Pithoragarh in one hour. This service will provide faster connectivity to the border districts, which is strategically, economically and socially important. This initiative under the UDAN scheme will provide affordable air travel to the common people. The fare for this service, which runs three days a week, is ₹ 5000.

Dialogue associate Jagran, Doiwala. Taking an important step towards connecting the border districts of the state with fast and easy air connectivity, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday flagged off the Dehradun-Pithoragarh-Dehradun air service from Jolly Grant Airport.

With the launch of 42 seater airline operated by Alliance Air, now the distance from Dehradun to the border district Pithoragarh can be covered in just one hour. This service has not only brought relief to the common citizens, but is also being considered very important from strategic, economic and social point of view.

Currently 26 air routes operate

Launching this service at Jolly Grant Airport on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that the UDAN scheme launched under the leadership of Narendra Modi has taken air travel to the common people in the country. Today, small towns and remote areas are being connected by air network and services are being provided at affordable rates. He informed that currently 26 air routes are operating in the state, while regular flights are being operated on 6 routes under the Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme.

The Chief Minister said that in a hilly state like Uttarakhand, air services are not just a medium of transportation but also act as a lifeline in emergency situations. On this occasion, the agreement for development works of Pithoragarh Airport at a cost of Rs 450 crore and acquisition of Naini Saini Airport was also mentioned. In the program, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu extended his best wishes through video message.

One way fare will be five thousand rupees

The one-way fare for air service between Dehradun and Pithoragarh has been kept at Rs 5,000 per passenger. The fare for both the journeys will be Rs 10,000.

Will operate three days a week

This service will operate three days a week i.e. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. During these days, the plane will take off from Pithoragarh at 12.40 pm and reach Dehradun airport at 1.25 pm. This plane will leave from Dehradun at 1.50 pm and reach Pithoragarh at 2.35 pm.

Efforts underway for night landing at Dehradun Airport

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that efforts are being made for night landing of planes at the airport. Talks have been held with the Center in this regard. Night landing facility will start soon at Dehradun Airport.
