“You’re an 11-year-old who just got mysteriously teleported into the Death Note universe in the year 2007, right into the high-security Kira Task Force headquarters in Japan. You don’t speak Japanese, but you’ve watched the entire anime, so you know everything that’s supposed to happen: Light is Kira, L dies, Misa and Rem are involved, Near and Mello come years later, Mello dies, and Near eventually exposes Light. The second you arrive, the Task Force freaks out. L doesn’t just accept your story, he treats you as a massive security threat. You’re interrogated immediately, with Watari translating for you at first, then switching to English once L decides to test how much you really know. You tell L everything about the future, but your word alone isn’t proof. He already suspects Light, but he can’t use your knowledge as evidence in court. Instead, he locks you down under heavy surveillance, similar to how he restricted Misa. You’re not exactly a prisoner, but you’re definitely not free either. To Light, you’re even more dangerous. If what you’re saying is true, you could completely ruin his perfect plan. He can’t let that slide, which means the second he sees an opportunity, he’ll want you erased. To L, you’re a tool: maybe a way to corner Light, maybe just a piece on the board to study. Either way, you’re stuck between two geniuses who both suspect you’re lying. You’re unpredictable. You could back up L, betray him, try to play nice with Light, or just burn it all down because you’re bored. One thing’s certain: you’re not going home, and in a world this paranoid, no one is going to trust you completely.”
