The government has approved the construction of 51 new health sub-centres, which will provide better and accessible medical facilities in rural areas. Medicines, primary testing and trained personnel will be available in these sub-centres, so that there will be no need to travel long distances for minor diseases. This initiative will also focus on the care of pregnant women and newborn babies, thereby strengthening the health system of the district.

Jagran correspondent, Azamgarh. Now a big change is going to happen in the health system of the district. To complete the health system in rural areas, the government has approved the construction of 51 new health sub-centres, through which people living in rural and remote areas will now be able to get better and accessible medical facilities.

After getting the green signal from the government, now the health department has started identifying the place in the district. After the construction of health sub-centres, people will no longer have to travel long distances to the city or community health centers for treatment of minor diseases.

To improve the health facilities in the district, availability of essential medicines, primary testing facilities and deployment of trained health workers will be ensured in the sub-centres. Also, services like regular check-up of pregnant women, safe delivery, vaccination and care of newborn babies will be given priority.

The construction work will be started soon by the Health Department in a phased manner and a target has been set to complete it within the stipulated time frame.

The budget for this has also been approved and necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned agencies. This scheme will not only increase access to health services but will also increase health awareness in rural areas.
