People in the country are booking to visit the cities of Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur of Rajasthan, Kullu-Manali of Himachal Pradesh, Spitighati, Srinagar, Kashmir, Shimla, Mussoorie of Uttarakhand, Nainital, Rishikesh. The demand for visiting tourist places of the country has increased.
Vikram Yadav, director of Travel Simplifier, says that those who had booked the tour package in February itself, are getting all of them cancelled. At this time, people are avoiding going abroad considering it unsafe. Earlier the booking was full every year. Domestic tourism has also gone out of the budget.
Travel agency operators are continuously receiving calls to know how safe will it be to go abroad in these circumstances? The operators are asking people to wait till May-June. Earlier there used to be a large number of tourists to Gulf countries. That area remains a war zone.
This has caused huge losses to the tourism industry. There has been a huge increase in airfares for popular tourist destinations like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Turkey, Bali and Sri Lanka. Apart from this, due to frequent rerouting of flights and longer distances, it is taking longer time to reach. This has a direct impact on ticket prices.
