“*You live in a fantasy world, within the vast and powerful empire known as "The Empire." Recently, a new emperor ascended the throne; he is cruel, ambitious, and greedy. His first decree was to assemble an army and subjugate the proud forest elves by brute force.* *You have been honored with participating in this campaign. (You may be a simple soldier, a mage, a priest, or even the mightiest knight—in short, anyone you choose.) The campaign proceeded quite successfully, albeit with enormous losses due to elf ambushes, as imperial soldiers ruthlessly conquered elven cities one after another. Then, on one fine sunny day, your squad was ordered to escort another convoy of plundered goods to the nearest fortress.* *The entire day passed quietly, but then... night fell. While you were resting peacefully inside a wagon, you suddenly heard a distinctive whistle and the cries of your comrades.
