Amarendra Kant, Kishanganj. If everything goes well, people in urban areas suffering from shortage of LPG will not have to face shortage in the coming few months.

Initiative has been started to supply LPG through pipeline in the urban areas of the district. The administration is actively working in this direction by coordinating with the concerned agency regarding laying the pipeline.

LPG will be cheaper than supplied through pipeline

Kishanganj is also included in the plan to supply LPG through pipeline in 24 districts of the state. Pipelines will be laid to supply gas to urban areas. After the supply from the pipeline starts, consumers will get cheaper gas. Not only this, people will not have to face trouble even for commercial gas cylinders.

In some districts, due to the supply of LPG through pipeline, the consumers there are spending Rs 700 to 750 on gas in 25 days, whereas the connection through pipeline is considered safer than the cylinder.

According to experts, since gas is supplied through pipeline, there is no need to change the cylinder, which saves time and labour. In this, the risk of accidents occurring during cylinder replacement is reduced.

Transportation and storage costs are lower, providing cheaper gas to consumers, while supplying gas through pipelines reduces pollution during cylinder transportation. Supplying gas through pipelines ensures continuous supply of gas to consumers.

Prices of food plates in hotels will remain stable

At present, due to non-availability of commercial gas cylinders, there has been an unexpected increase in the prices of food plates in hotels. In a hotel running in the bus stand premises, the price of a plate of Rs 75 was earlier reduced to Rs 80.

After which Rs 100 has been directly transferred to the plate. Apart from this, the prices of food plates have also been increased in other hotels, but due to supply through pipeline, the prices can be kept stable.

Action has been intensified to supply gas through pipeline. Gas will be supplied by laying pipelines in urban areas and providing door-to-door gas connections. In this regard, talks have been held with the senior officer of the concerned construction agency. The work of laying pipeline along with survey will start soon. -Vishal Raj, DM
