Woman Dies Under Suspicious Circumstances In Gulriha, Gorakhpur, In-laws Abscond Leaving Dead Body

A woman died under suspicious circumstances in Gulriha, Gorakhpur. He died during treatment at BRD Medical College, after which his in-laws fled away leaving the dead body. The parents have filed a case against the husband accusing them of dowry death. The police have started investigation, in which the matter of assault and dowry harassment by the husband has come to light.

Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. The woman died under suspicious circumstances on Friday. He was undergoing treatment at BRD Medical College. It is alleged that after the death, the in-laws including the husband fled leaving the dead body. The parents reached the spot after getting the information and got the Panchnama of the dead body done. After this, the brother filed a case at Gulriha police station accusing her husband of dowry death. Police have started investigation.

26-year-old Chanda, a resident of Mehrauli of Belipar police station, was married to Motherson Chauhan, a resident of Jungle Tikriya of Gulriha, in the year 2020. The couple also have a five-year-old daughter. Chanda's brother Prithviraj Chauhan told the police in his complaint that on Thursday night, sister's in-laws told that Chanda had suffered a heart attack and she has been admitted to the Trauma Center of the Medical College.

After the information, when they reached the trauma center, their sister's body was found lying outside, her husband and in-laws were missing. Police were called after giving information and Panchnama was conducted and sent for postmortem. Prithviraj alleged that his sister's husband used to beat Chanda every day while drunk. He used to harass her for bringing less dowry. He had called and complained several times. Chanda's sister-in-law Nisha told the police that on the night of 18 and 19 March, her husband had beaten and injured her sister-in-law.

Somehow, Chanda reached her maternal home with her daughter in an injured condition, barefoot, where she was treated. Nisha also provided photos and video of Chanda's injuries to the police. Police station incharge Ityanand Pandey said that the post-mortem of the woman's body is being conducted. On the basis of brother's complaint, a case of dowry death and assault has been registered against the husband and investigation is going on. Further legal action will be taken after the report comes.
