Apart from siphoning off money, cyber fraudsters are also using stolen or misused credit card details of victims. They are purchasing expensive items like gold coins, gift cards and premium smartphones on online platforms using credit cards. In this way also the amount of fraud is being spent.
Recently, in the case of cyber fraud related to Kanpur, it was revealed that out of the fraud, Rs 54 lakh had come into the account of a Noida firm. Gold was purchased with this amount. Kanpur Police is investigating the matter.
