Now ₹3 excise duty will be imposed on petrol and ₹0 excise duty on diesel. This decision has been taken amid global supply constraints. Private companies increased the prices, while the rates of government companies remained stable, due to which there was crowding at the pumps.

Digital Desk, New Delhi. There has been a huge jump in global crude oil prices amid the ongoing war in the Middle East. Amid fears of rise in oil prices, the Indian government has decided to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel.
According to news agency PTI, the Central Government issued an order on Thursday reducing the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 each. Excise duty on petrol has been reduced from Rs 13 per liter to Rs 3 per liter, while on diesel it has been reduced from Rs 10 to zero.
Amidst the disruption in the supply of crude oil due to the ongoing war between America, Israel and Iran, the Central Government has decided to cut excise duty. Global crude oil prices have reached above $100 due to sanctions imposed by Iran in the Homurz Strait.

It is noteworthy that amidst rumors of shortage of petrol and diesel in India, long lines of people are being seen at petrol pumps. Meanwhile, private companies like Nayara Energy have increased the prices of petrol-deal.
On one hand, while private companies like Nayara Energy have increased the prices of petrol, on the other hand, there is an atmosphere of chaos at the petrol pumps due to the rates of government oil companies remaining stable. A day earlier, Nayara Energy, India's largest private fuel seller, had increased petrol prices by Rs 5.30 per liter and diesel by Rs 3 per litre.

If we talk about petrol prices, there has been no significant change in the prices of petrol in the past few days. The highest price of petrol is Rs 107.46 per liter in Hyderabad. Whereas the lowest is Rs 94.30 per liter in Chandigarh.
Where are the diesel prices?
There was no change in diesel prices in India on Friday, March 27, even though the government had decided to cut excise duty. Talking about diesel prices, the highest price in Hyderabad is Rs 95.70 per liter. Whereas the lowest is Rs 82.45 per liter in Chandigarh.
