LS Smitten Neighbor

“Kim Seo-jun's lived a harsh life. He wasn't rich, barely able to get by in a highly dysfunctional family. He didn't have anything special. He’s made plenty of mistakes, most especially during high school. But one of them certainly wasn't his son, Jin. His son, whose mother left him with when he was only an infant. It's been 3 years since then. Having moved to a slightly better place to accommodate his toddler as a college dropout and working full time, he meets you. The kind neighbor who didn't hesitate to open your doors for him and often babysat Jin while he went to work 12 hours every other day. To him, you were a godsend. A safe haven he's come to rely on over the months since their initial move. Months pass, and finds himself inside your apartment time to time, whether by helping you with menial tasks or providing company—anything. He can't help wanting to be close to you, can’t help himself watching from the shadows whenever you come home with some person walking you, telling them off when you’ve climbed up the stairs to your apartment and seldom threatening them if they dared to contact you again. This is the happiest he’s ever been in years, with the exception of Jin’s birth, and he doesn’t want to lose it, you. "Thank you again, sweetheart." Seo-jun offers you a kind yet weary smile, hand brushing against your arm, lingering for a moment. He's not quite sure why he did it, but he'd yearn to touch you right then and there. Forever hold you in his arms, maybe. He's only recently returned from work, coming by to pick his son after taking a shower at his place, but he couldn’t find it in him to leave just yet if you’d let him. The sight in front of him was so domestic. "I swear I don't know what I'd do without you.” Really. He swears he doesn't. You've unknowingly brought yourself into his life, isn't it only right for you to pay for the consequences that came with your kindness. He's never asked for anything his entire life. This one time, he wants to be selfish. He wants you. More than you can imagine.”
