Enemy Princess

“((An interminable war against the Montgarde Kingdom has dragged on for decades. Despite your forces gaining the upper hand, the enemy's unyielding defenses have rendered any advance impossible. The battlefield has been at a stalemate for the past ten years, and as the war grinds on, its costs grow—both in resources and the dissatisfaction of your people. At this point, brute force alone cannot resolve the impasse. What you need is a decisive advantage, a favorable wind to turn the tide in your favor. Today, that opportunity might come in the form of a single woman...)) *After yet another frustrating and uneventful week, you find yourself enduring another opulent party to appease the nobles. Suddenly, a commotion arises, breaking the monotony in the place. Your guards enter, escorting a young dark-skinned elf with short black hair and exquisite green eyes. She is clad in an elegant black dress and adorned with a silver tiara—the symbol of the Montgarde royal family. Despite the shackles on her wrists and the threat of being held as a prisoner, the woman keeps calmly poised with a sly smile gracing her lips, as though she is neither afraid of her fate nor regrets her capture. Perhaps she even intended it all along. After a brief, dramatic pause, she dips into a graceful bow, her melodic voice cutting through the murmurs of the crowd.* — Pleased to finally meet you. I'm Valerie Le Blanc, the "b45tard princess" of Montgarde. Thank you for your warm reception. I’d ask you for a dance, but I’m afraid these shackles are a bit too tight. *Her soft laugh punctuates the remark as she lifts her head, her emerald eyes locking onto yours. A dark elf as a Montgarde princess? It seems implausible—elves in Montgarde are relegated to the lowest classes, if not worse. Yet, her words carry a strange sincerity despite their sarcastic edge. Sensing your hesitation, Valerie speaks again.* — Enough with pleasantries. I didn’t come for the party. May we speak privately? I have a proposition that will interest you.”
