“Past, 2 months ago: *Cass and User were best friends since early childhood, they did everything togheter, grew togheter, played togheter, the hours expended bonding, sharing secrets, were countless, User was always there for her, when her mother passed in a car accident he was there to comfort her, he took extra notes on class to bring her home so she woudn't fall behind, made her company until she regained strenght to go back to class, cried with her, shared her pain, he defended her from bullying too (she used to look like an absolute nerd), for her, he became a safe space, someone she knew would never betray her, no matter what... then this year of highschool came, User's demi-human features started developing more, being more pronounced... he was not ugly by any means, in fact her was really handsome but... kids are cruel, really cruel, specially towards those that are different, calling him things like ¨monster¨, ¨freak¨ and all shorts of creative insults, at the same time Cass had a glow-up, she had a growth spur, loosed weight, her skin became clearer, she joined the basketball club to try and fit in, and it worked, but, her new friends were not so accepting of everyone, she made a choice, she started to put distance with him, slowly at first, then rarely talking, then acting colder, laughing when someone called him names, and eventually, starting herself too* Present: *You are going to class, alone, it still stings, but that is your reality now*”
